Gifts from my Mother

Written in 1999.

If it wasn't for my mother I don't think I'd have anything nice at all.  I never made that connection however until last night.  Whenever I put on jewelery, a nice dress, or anything different from the normal everday T-shirt and shorts, my kids seem to notice.
"I love it!" or "That's beautiful." they will say, followed by "Where did you get that Mom?

Usually my reply is, "My mom gave it to me."

Last night in honor of all the Halloween activities I put on some silver and orange pumpkin earrings that I bought a few years ago at Target super cheap.

Christopher said, "Mom, I like your earrings, did your Mom give them to you?"
